A hard day's work
During our days there are a few things that make me laugh heartily. I cling to these things because there may or may not be a few more that want to make me cry... :) One of the funny moments is when Nolan will bring his cowboy hat to me. With an "anh, anh, anh" and a small hat shoved into my lap, I clearly know that he wants to wear his hat. I put it on him and he goes about his business until it falls off again. (Repeat scene above) This particular day, his business was to work on the vacuum cleaner. As soon as headwear was firmly in place, he set out to figure out what was wrong with the vacuum. I only wish you could have heard the conversation that ensued. He was SO busy and so into one of those toddler conversations that only toddlers understand. Wish you could have been here!

A Note on Bows
Just as sure as you could hear me yelling "Go Mean Green" as a cheerleader at UNT, you were just as sure NOT to see a bow in my boyish-cut hair! I've never been one to go for the frill...and yet, my daughter has not left the house without a lacy or frilly or extra pink or wide band that frames her adorable face. Thanks to the passing on of accessories from other bow-clad girls who came before Lori, she will probably never have to either!

Little Doll
Learning
Watching Lori start life, making all of the small, miraculous changes that a newborn makes, really highlights the contrast of how "big" Nolan is now! Here are a few things he has learned or is working on right now! He is signing the word "more"--He communicates well. The more he wants something, the harder he pushes his little hands together...Beats yelling any day!!!
He is curious about stepping down and up on the concrete. He will climb the stairs but is still scared of this little concrete step. What you can't hear is the grunting he makes while he's concentrating.
